The NCDA&CS administers annual grant funding received from the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. Our purpose is to solely enhance the competitiveness, marketing, awareness and research of specialty crops. Since inception, over 215 projects in NC have received over $15.1 million to advance research, marketing, sales, awareness and consumption of specialty crops!

11 NC projects were funded as part of the 2018 Farm Bill’s allocation to Specialty Crops for 2021.
The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (H.R. 133) allocated additional funding for projects designed to address the challenges of the COVID pandemic.
